The HATHOR / HET HERT sistrum is a sacred musical instrument that holds great significance in ancient Kemetic mythology and ritual ceremonies. Hathor/ Het Hert, a prominent Neteru in the ancient Kemetic pantheon, is often depicted holding a sistrum in her hand. She is associated with the realm of music, love, fertility, and joy.

During worship and ritual ceremonies, the sistrum was used by temple priestesses to create rhythmic sounds. The rattling of the sistrum was believed to invoke the presence and blessings of Hathor/ Het Hert, driving away evil spirits and negative energies while bestowing joy and prosperity upon the community.

The sistrum is made up of a copper loop or frame which holds a series of thin copper bars. These bars are set closely together and each has a small copper disc or "jingle" attached to it, creating a rattling sound when shaken.

Copper tools have been used in ritual and ceremonial practices throughout history. The properties of copper such as its conductive qualities make it a popular material for creating sacred items. Each copper tool is crafted with intricate designs, symbolizing the spiritual significance and primordial concepts of the ritual work they are used in. They are to be used in reverence and care for they are powerful conduits of spiritual energy.
